Hochwacht Observation tower

Hochwacht is a wooden observation tower in Langnau am Albis that rises approximately 33 meters above ground with 152 steps leading to a covered viewing platform. The structure stands on a hilltop and opens views across the surrounding landscape.

The location of Hochwacht served as part of a watch network in the 17th century that functioned as an early warning system for Zurich's territory. Fire and smoke signals were used from these hilltop posts to alert people to approaching threats.
