Tanzboden, Mountain summit in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Tanzboden is a mountain summit in eastern Switzerland rising to 1443 meters with multiple hiking trails crossing through it. The area displays typical Alpine landscapes with forests and open slopes.
The summit became a winter sports destination after a ski lift was installed in the mid-20th century. This infrastructure opened the area to skiers and snowboarders.
The mountain restaurant below the summit serves as a gathering place where visitors find regional specialties and traditional Alpine cooking. The food reflects what grows and is produced in this area.
You can reach the mountain by taking public transportation to Ebnat-Kappel station and then hiking for about two and a half hours or using the ski lift. Good footwear and weather protection are wise since conditions change quickly at altitude.
The northern slopes offer ideal conditions for ski touring and snowshoeing, with gentle terrain suited for beginners. This easier terrain makes the mountain popular with people just starting out with winter activities.
