Hotel Verenahof, Class A cultural property hotel in Baden, Switzerland

Hotel Verenahof stands at Kurplatz in Baden with a classical facade, rounded arch windows, and a glass-covered atrium connecting three gallery levels.

Built in 1845 by architect Caspar Josef Jeuch on the foundations of three former inns, the hotel expanded in 1874 with an additional northern section.

Emperor Haile Selassie and composer Richard Strauss, who wrote parts of opera Arabella during his stay, spent time at this Swiss establishment.

The building remains vacant since 2002 and undergoes transformation into a rehabilitation clinic, with construction work starting in December 2019.

The hotel features preserved decorative paintings of local landscapes in its former dining area and marble-like columns throughout its gallery spaces.
