Guanyin of Nanshan

Guanyin of Nanshan is a three-faced statue standing on a lotus platform located on Guanyin Island. The figure is decorated with gemstones and intricate details across its entire surface.

Construction started in September 1999 and took several years to complete the structure. The monument received its official opening in 2005 and has since become an important pilgrimage site.

The three faces are seen by visitors as representing different aspects of compassion and wisdom from various perspectives. People approach the statue from different angles, each offering their own interpretation of what they see.

A pedestrian bridge connects the statue to the mainland and leads to a large plaza surrounding the monument. The area provides ample space for walking and taking in the views from different angles.

The structure incorporates precious metals and stones throughout its surface, making it one of the most decorated monuments in the region. Few visitors realize how many valuable materials were used in its construction.
