Nanshan Temple

Nanshan Temple spreads along the coastline with multiple pavilions, courtyards, and gardens arranged across the hillside. At its center stands a towering statue of Guanyin that rises above the surrounding buildings and sea views.

The complex was built in the late 1990s and marked a turning point for Buddhist architecture in southern Hainan Province. This project reflected growing interest in establishing significant religious sites in the region.

The central statue towers more than 100 meters tall and is cast in bronze and gold, making it one of the world's tallest religious sculptures. Its towering presence is visible from the sea and serves as a landmark for ships in the area.
