Shipton's Arch, Natural arch in China
Shipton's Arch, also known as Tushuk Tash, is a natural arch located in the Xinjiang region.
This monumental arch was reintroduced to the western world by British mountaineer Eric Shipton in 1947 while on an expedition.
The local Uyghur people refer to it as Tushuk Tash, meaning 'Hole in Heaven'.
Shipton's Arch is accessible to hikers but requires a strenuous trek to reach.
Standing over 1,500 feet, Shipton's Arch is among the tallest natural arches in the world.
