New Town Hall, Gothic Revival town hall at Marienplatz, Munich, Germany
The New Town Hall extends across the northern part of Marienplatz with a 100-meter-long main facade and reaches a height of 85 meters.
Georg von Hauberrisser designed this administrative building in 1867 at age 25, incorporating numerous towers and elaborate stone carvings completed by 1909.
The Glockenspiel mechanism in the tower performs three times daily, displaying 32 life-sized figures that represent important events from Munich's history.
The building contains 400 rooms for municipal employees, while visitors can access the observation deck through two elevators for panoramic city views.
The central courtyard features a mosaic labyrinth on its floor and contains the Staircase of Ages, representing different periods of human life.
