Lütjenburg is a small town in Plön District, Schleswig-Holstein, situated roughly 30 kilometers east of Kiel. The settlement includes schools, local businesses, and residential areas that form the center of the community.
The settlement was founded in the 12th century when German colonists expanded eastward into the region. Over time it developed into a local administrative center for the surrounding area.
