Riessersee, Mountain lake in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
Riessersee sits at 785 meters elevation beneath the Wetterstein Mountains, surrounded by the steep rock faces and peaks of the Bavarian Alps. The water fills a natural basin framed by rocky ridges and forested slopes on all sides.
