The Annalinde is a winter linden tree standing near Kirchhausen, Frankenbach, and Leingarten that commands attention for its size. The trunk measures roughly 7 meters in circumference, while the crown extends about 80 meters across, giving the tree its striking proportions.
The tree received protection as a natural monument on April 23, 1941, securing its future. This designation recognized its importance to the local environment and ensured its preservation for generations to come.
The name comes from an old chapel dedicated to Saint Anna that once stood nearby. Visitors today can sense this historical connection when standing beneath the tree and exploring the surrounding area.
The tree receives regular care through steel cables that support its branches while the crown is carefully trimmed. Visitors find it easily accessible in a quiet spot between the three villages.
A memorial stone called Annakreuz stands near the tree and was relocated to its current spot in 1975. The stone connects stories of an old chapel explosion with the present day.
