Markt Schwaben is a municipality in Upper Bavaria east of Munich and belongs to the Ebersberg district. The place is home to around 8,000 people and is shaped by the water-rich landscape of the Ebersberg region, with forests and small lakes surrounding the village.
The place developed from a settlement that formed around a local marketplace, giving the community its name. Over the centuries, it remained an important supply point for the surrounding villages and farms of the region.
