Schloss Tegel

Schloss Tegel is a neoclassical country estate in Berlin with balanced proportions and decorated columns. The building contains spacious rooms filled with historical objects and documents from its long past.

The estate took its current shape in the 1820s after Wilhelm von Humboldt inherited the older property and chose to redesign it. That transformation defined how the house looks today.

The rooms hold the memory of two brothers, Wilhelm and Alexander, whose ideas shaped European thought. Walking through the spaces, you encounter how their work and legacy remain woven into the building's daily presentation.

The house opens to visitors during summer months through guided tours. Throughout the building, you find information panels explaining the rooms and what they represent.

In the garden stands an ancient oak tree called Dicke Marie, growing there for many centuries. The tree held deep meaning for the family who lived here and continues to draw the attention of those who visit.
