Brauerei Lüdde

Brauerei Lüdde occupies a timber-framed building near Quedlinburg's marketplace, featuring classical architectural details and a distinctive roof from its founding period. The property combines a hotel, beer garden, and working brewery operations all in one location.

The original brewery at this site was founded in 1807 under the name Schreibersche Brown Beer Brewery. In 1876, Carl-Friedrich Lüdde purchased the property and built the structures that stand today.

The brewery reflects different periods of ownership through its name and the beers it produces. Visitors today experience spaces where traditional brewing methods create varieties like Pubarschknall brown beer and local wheat beer.

The main entrance is located at Blasiistraße 14, southwest of the market square and easy to find on foot. The site offers lodging and food service, making it possible to spend several hours or stay overnight.

In earlier times, unfinished beer was delivered by horse cart to customers who then mixed it with water and had to let it mature for days at home. This unusual practice reveals how differently people consumed beer in that era.
