Tailfingen

Tailfingen is a district of Albstadt located in the Swabian Jura at an elevation of about 778 meters (2,550 feet). The area consists of residential buildings interspersed with forests and open land that define its rural character.

The area remained independent for centuries until 1975, when it merged with neighboring communities to form present-day Albstadt. This consolidation reshaped how local government and services operated in the region.

The region experienced three notable earthquakes during the 20th century, with the strongest occurring in 1911 at magnitude 6.1. This geological history remains part of local awareness about natural hazards in the area.
