Brunnenmeile Duisburg

The Brunnenmeile Duisburg is a sculpture trail featuring eleven fountains spread across one kilometer through the Königstrasse pedestrian zone. The works by international artists create distinct focal points throughout the central shopping district.

The trail began as a nationwide competition organized by architect Hartmut Rüdiger and was completed in 1993. Its realization became possible after the construction of a city railway tunnel transformed the urban landscape.

The fountains along this trail reflect contributions from artists across Europe, shaping how people experience the shopping district. Each work brings its own style to the public space, encouraging visitors to pause and observe.
