Schlossturm Auerbach, Medieval castle tower in Auerbach, Germany.

The stone tower reaches a height of 43 meters with walls measuring 3.5 meters thick at the base and 1.1 meters at the top.

First documented in 1348 as Castrum Urbach, the tower stood as part of a residential complex dating back to the 12th century.

The tower functions as an observation point offering views across the Saxon Vogtland region through its position on the former castle keep.

Visitors can climb the tower using a spiral staircase composed of 179 steps, which has been accessible to the public since 1850.

A stele at the tower base marks the Mars-Weg, directing visitors toward the Rodewisch Planetarium through a dedicated path.
