Cocoon Club, Techno club in Frankfurt East, Germany
Cocoon Club was housed in a concrete building called the U.F.O. located in Frankfurt's industrial district and could hold around 1,500 guests across multiple rooms. The spaces were connected by a high-end sound system and distinctive interior design throughout.
The project was founded in 2004 by DJ Sven Väth as a successor to the previous Omen Club that occupied the same space. It operated for about eight years before financial troubles forced it to close in 2012.
The venue held a notable position in Frankfurt's electronic music landscape, drawing crowds who came for performances by both established and emerging talent. People experienced it as a destination created specifically for this style of music and the community around it.
The location sat in an industrial area outside the main city center, so reaching it required intentional travel rather than passing by chance. The multiple rooms throughout allowed visitors to move between different zones depending on what they preferred at any moment.
The interior featured cocoons made from sofas that were built directly into the walls, creating private nooks throughout the space. It also housed two restaurants within the same building, setting it apart from typical club venues.
