Mäulesmühle

Mäulesmühle is a restaurant serving organic cuisine and contains a working mill mechanism in the Siebenmühlental valley, situated at about 390 meters elevation. The building also houses a museum that provides insight into traditional craftsmanship, plus a space for cultural events and gatherings.

The location was long known as Komede-Scheuer, where artists Albin Braig and Karlheinz Hartmann regularly presented theatrical performances beginning in 1985. After these successful performances ended, the place was transformed into a cultural center that now enriches the local community with diverse offerings.

The name comes from an old mill that once stood here, and today it serves as a gathering place for the local community. The mill museum displays tools and objects that remind visitors of the craftsmanship and work from earlier times.

The restaurant is located in a scenic valley and requires advance reservation, especially if you plan to visit on a weekend. The best way to arrive is by car, as the location is somewhat removed from the town center and parking is available right at the building.

The mill mechanism remains fully functional and is occasionally used for demonstrations, bringing the history of water power at this location to life. Visitors can watch how the wheel is driven by water from the Siebenmühle stream and understand the original engineering.
