SS. Peter and Paul's Church, Göttingen

SS. Peter and Paul's Church in Göttingen is a Gothic structure with three naves and ribbed vaults showing Dominican architectural standards from the early 14th century. Today it combines historic religious spaces with modern library facilities and exhibition areas designed for public use.

The church was built in 1304 for Dominican monks and marks the beginning of their religious community in the city. During the Reformation in 1529, it transitioned to Protestant use and underwent major restoration following World War II damage.

The interior reflects Dominican craftsmanship and their preference for functional spaces designed for study and contemplation. Visitors can observe how the original religious purpose now coexists with its role as a public library and cultural venue.
