Messenhausen, District in Rödermark, Germany
Messenhausen is a district of Rödermark located in the gently rolling Messeler Hügelland region southeast of Frankfurt, at approximately 158 meters elevation. The area is organized around residential streets that link different neighborhoods and create a quiet suburban character typical of communities near Germany's financial center.
The settlement first appeared in written records in 1282 and functioned as an independent municipality until merging with Ober-Roden in 1957. This consolidation marked the end of its existence as a separate administrative entity.
This district incorporates both Catholic traditions and Evangelical Christian influences, reflecting the religious diversity that developed through population movements over centuries.
The district is well served by connecting roads such as Alte Oberröder Weg and Marie-Curie-Straße that link to surrounding areas and make navigation straightforward. Walking around reveals a clearly organized street layout that allows you to explore at a relaxed pace without difficulty.
The area experienced remarkable population growth from roughly 80 residents in 1829 to over 600 by the 1970s, reflecting its transformation from a village into a suburban community. This expansion occurred as Frankfurt's industrial growth and urban sprawl spread outward into surrounding regions.
