The Kleinbahn Sommerhofen-Park is a miniature railway facility in Sindelfingen with different track gauges to accommodate various locomotive types. The system includes multiple tracks where both steam and diesel locomotives operate.
The facility was expanded in the late 1980s and officially opened in 1990 as part of a regional garden exhibition. This project established it as a miniature railway destination in the region.
The railway is run by dedicated enthusiasts who work on the locomotives and share their passion for miniature trains with visitors. You see people actively maintaining and operating the trains, creating a welcoming community atmosphere around the hobby.
Visitors can enjoy rides on weekends and holidays, particularly from April through September. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore the different locomotive types on display.
The four different track gauges allow rarely seen locomotive models from private collections to operate here. This makes each visit special as you can see different engineering designs and construction techniques in action.
