Badezentrum Sindelfingen, Swimming complex in Sindelfingen, Germany

Badezentrum Sindelfingen is a large swimming complex with both indoor and outdoor pools designed for different water activities. The facility includes multiple pools of varying depths and temperatures, along with areas for recreation and leisure.

The outdoor pool opened on 27 June 1964 as the Waldfreibad, built in two years to a design by architect Erwin Spier at a cost of 10 million DM. Its 17-metre diving tower became a landmark of Sindelfingen. The indoor pool followed on 11 December 1976, when the complex was inaugurated as the Badezentrum with a 50-metre sports pool and a five-metre tower; its 1,536 m² of water made it Germany's largest indoor pool at the time. The 2005 renovation, costing 4.6 million euros, gave the adventure pool a stainless-steel basin and redesigned the children's area.

Local families and school groups gather here regularly for swimming lessons and water sports, making it a social hub for the community. The facility serves as a meeting place where residents of all ages spend their free time together.

The complex is easily accessible by public transportation and offers ample parking for visitors driving. On pleasant weather days, the outdoor pools are especially popular, while the indoor areas can be enjoyed throughout the year.

The indoor pool hall, opened in 1976, had the largest self-supporting wooden roof of any hall in Europe at the time. Its water surface of 1,536 m² made it the largest indoor pool in Germany. The council decided in March 2026 to demolish and rebuild it.
