Haus Osthoff, Manor house in Dülmen, Germany.
Haus Osthoff is a baroque building in Dülmen constructed from red brick and light sandstone elements forming corners and window frames. Below the main structure lies a spacious cellar with cross-ribbed vaulting that dates back to when the building was first created.
A baroness named Anna Maria von Landsberg purchased the land in 1727 and had this manor house built there ten years later. Construction occurred in the mid-1700s when baroque style was popular in the region.
The house shapes the appearance of Dülmen with its distinctive brick and sandstone facade, reflecting regional building traditions clearly. Visitors who pass by notice the careful design of the front and the prominent roofline that makes this building stand out in the town.
The building is visible from the street and can be viewed from outside where its facade is clearly seen. Visitors should note that this is a private residence not open for tours or interior visits.
The cellar below the house still preserves the stone cross-ribbed vaults from the 1700s that were built by hand and remain in good condition today. These underground rooms connect directly to the upper living areas through restored passages, showing how the space was originally used.
