Pfingstkirche, Gothic Revival church in Friedrichshain, Germany
The Pfingstkirche is a Gothic Revival building crowned by a 70-meter-high tower with an octagonal spire. Inside, the space divides into three open sections capable of holding up to 1000 people.
The church opened in 1908 following the separation of a Pentecost congregation from another parish in the area. Its design by architect Jürgen Kröger reflected the growing religious community's need for a dedicated space.
The church serves the congregation as a gathering place and shapes the neighborhood through its distinctive architecture and interior artworks.
The main building lacks heating, so services move to the community building from autumn through spring. Plan your visit accordingly if you want to attend a service in the main church.
The entrance portal features carved sandstone angels in prayer positioned on column capitals. These detailed sculptures at the doorway often escape notice on a quick glance.
