Schloss Adolfsburg
Schloss Adolfsburg, Baroque château in Oberhundem, Kirchhundem, Germany.
The stone château features symmetrical wings, a central entrance, and a traditional moat surrounding its perimeter near the Oberhundem village entrance.
Baron Johann Adolf von Fürstenberg commissioned the construction of this château around 1670 and resided there until his death in 1704.
The knights' hall contains two ornate chimneys and a detailed bust created by sculptor Johann Mauritz Gröninger during the initial construction period.
The château stands at 394 meters elevation and connects to regional hiking paths, including routes leading to the Rhein-Weser-Turm observation tower.
During World War II, the château served as storage for art collections before their evacuation to Düsseldorf and later housed displaced persons.
