Lentpark, Sports complex in Neustadt-Nord, Germany
Lentpark is a sports complex combining an ice arena and swimming pools on a large site in Cologne's Neustadt-Nord district. The facility houses a 25-meter indoor pool, a training pool, a children's area, and a 50-meter outdoor pool complete with water slides.
Construction began in 2009 following the demolition of the earlier ice and swimming facility and the building opened in October 2011. The new structure replaced an outdated predecessor and has shaped the city's sports offerings since its completion.
The complex serves as home to the Cologne Sledge Hockey Team and reflects the city's commitment to winter sports for all athletes. Visitors experience a blend of training atmosphere and competitive spirit that goes beyond everyday athletic activity.
The site is easily accessible by public transport and offers ample parking for car visitors. Plan to allow time for moving between the swimming and ice areas, as these occupy separate zones with their own changing facilities.
The complex was the first ice sports facility in Europe to be accepted into the EU Greenbuilding program for environmental sustainability. This recognition reflects early commitment to eco-conscious sports infrastructure in the region.
