Jahrhunderthalle, Event and sports venue in Frankfurt-West, Germany
Jahrhunderthalle is an event and sports venue with a concrete dome in Frankfurt-West that holds up to 4,800 people. The structure allows flexible use for concerts, musicals, theater performances and sporting competitions.
Architect Friedrich Wilhelm Kraemer designed the hall and completed it in 1963 in the Unterliederbach district. It was created as a central multipurpose venue for the western part of Frankfurt and expanded the city's cultural offerings.
The name refers to a commemorative anniversary and today reflects the district's role as a gathering place for local residents who attend performances and community events regularly. Visitors experience concerts and shows inside a domed space that creates a distinctive acoustic environment.
Multiple parking spaces surround the hall and public transport connects the site directly with other parts of the city. Arriving early makes it easier to find a spot and get oriented before an event starts.
The concrete dome uses construction techniques from the early 1960s that were considered advanced at the time and are rarely seen today. This design influences the acoustics and makes the space particularly suitable for musical performances.
