Liboriuskapelle Creuzburg, Gothic chapel in Creuzburg, Germany.

The Liboriuskapelle is a Gothic chapel in Creuzburg built from yellow sandstone and located beside the Werrabrücke. The structure features eight buttresses decorated with panels and displays late Gothic windows with distinctive tracery patterns.

The stone chapel's construction began in 1499, replacing an earlier wooden structure that had stood on this site. Local leaders initiated the project to provide a dedicated prayer house for the expanding community.

The chapel is dedicated to Saint Liborius, a protector against fever and pain venerated in this region. This religious focus shapes how locals and visitors experience the space as a place of personal prayer and spiritual devotion.

The chapel is open daily for visitors and can be entered independently. The best time to visit is during daytime hours, when natural light illuminates the interior details clearly.

Inside, the chapel preserves frescoes from 1520 depicting scenes from Saint Elisabeth's life and religious stories. These wall paintings were created by artist Cunrad Stebel from Rotenburg and rank among the site's most valued artistic works.
