Schloss Kittlitz, Medieval château in Kittlitz, Löbau district, Germany
The château displays a mansard roof design and stands as a central structure within the eastern area of Löbau, surrounded by landscaped grounds.
Originally constructed in 1071 as a German burgward near a Slavic fortification, the château underwent substantial modifications around 1480 under the ownership of the Nostitz family.
Between 1750 and 1769, the château functioned as a center for Freemasonry activities under Karl Gotthelf von Hund, who led German Masonic lodges.
The château now serves as a community center and administrative office, hosting local events and providing spaces for various community organizations.
Underground passages connect different parts of the former water castle complex, revealing the medieval defensive architecture of the structure.
