Kreuzkapelle

The Kreuzkapelle is a church building in Bad Camberg with distinctive architecture and several altars from past centuries. The layout of the structure has changed throughout history and continues to shape the appearance of this religious site today.

The initial construction took place between 1681 and 1683 as an octagonal structure and was later converted into a different floor plan. This transformation occurred in the early 18th century thanks to support from a local noble family.

The name refers to the cross that draws pilgrims here and remains the focal point of their devotion. The stone stations along the approach show how this place has served as a destination for believers across generations.

The site sits elevated within a walled meadow and is easily reached on foot. The area is open for visiting and offers space to walk around and view the different parts of the grounds.

A smaller eight-sided building stands near the main chapel and once served practical functions. This detail shows how everyday needs at a religious site were considered in its overall design.
