Kreuzkapelle, Catholic pilgrimage chapel in Bad Camberg, Germany
The Kreuzkapelle rises 332 meters above sea level, featuring a cross-shaped structure with wooden vaults and multiple altars from the 18th century.
The initial octagonal structure, built between 1681 and 1683, expanded into a Greek cross shape in 1725 through the support of the Hohenfeld family.
Seven stone stations from the Hadamar sculpture school, donated by noble families in 1700, line the path leading to the chapel entrance.
The chapel contains a crypt beneath the choir that preserves the original weathered stone stations and houses a shrine with a cross relic.
Symmetrical stairs lead to an elevated choir area, while the surrounding walled meadow includes an eight-sided sexton's house near the chapel.
