Blender, Communication tower in Wiggensbach, Germany
The Blender transmission plant stands 115 meters tall in the Kürnacher Forest, featuring concrete construction with multiple platforms and a 16-meter operational control room.
Deutsche Bundespost constructed this tower between 1982 and 1983 to replace a lower steel lattice mast, beginning operations in October 1984.
The transmission facility connects the Allgäu region through Radio Session Allgäu broadcasts and serves as a central communication point for surrounding communities.
The tower operates with 10 kilowatts of power for DAB channels, providing digital radio programming and mobile communications services across the Oberallgäu district.
The structure required 175 tons of steel and 1000 cubic meters of concrete during construction, positioned at 1057 meters above sea level.
