Schloss Wellenburg, Renaissance château in Augsburg-Bergheim, Germany.

Schloss Wellenburg stands on a wooded ridge above the Wertach Valley, featuring three round towers connected by substantial walls in a triangular layout.

The castle passed through several Augsburg families until 1595 when Jakob III Fugger acquired it for 70,000 Guilders and commissioned the outer gate construction.

The chapel of Saint George contains medieval sculptures, including a life-sized figure from the late 15th century and a crucifix from the early 14th century.

The castle remains private property of the Fugger-Babenhausen family since 1595 and does not permit public access to its grounds or buildings.

A two-kilometer avenue lined with 350 linden trees, planted in 1840, creates the main approach to the castle from Göggingen.
