Schloss Mirow, Ducal palace on Castle Island in Mirow, Germany
The three-story palace features an H-shaped layout with a central building containing two floors and converted attic roof flanked by three-story wings.
The palace construction started in 1707 under architect Joachim Borchmann and took five years to complete as a residence for Dowager Duchess Emilie.
The palace museum displays reconstructions reflecting the lifestyle of the Mecklenburg-Strelitz ruling family, including connections to European royal houses.
The palace opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours until 6:00 PM during summer months May through September.
The Great Hall, designed by Giovanni Battista Clerici in 1711, remains one of the few original Baroque features within the palace structure.
