Ruine Hohenringingen, Medieval castle ruin near Burladingen, Germany
Ruine Hohenringingen is a castle ruin located on Nähberg hill at about 877 meters elevation near Burladingen. The stone keep rises about 15 meters high and is accompanied by remains of the former ring wall.
The first documented mention dates to 1180, naming knights Dietrich and Otto von Ringingen as residents. The structure later fell into disrepair during the 15th century.
The entrance to the keep displays the coat of arms of Ringingen alongside regional symbols from Württemberg and the Zollernalb district. These markings reflect the place's importance to local identity.
The fully restored keep can be climbed and received a new roof in 2008. A barbecue area is available next to the structure for visitor use.
The original entrance to the keep was positioned about 6 meters above ground level, creating a raised doorway. Arrow slits in the walls reveal the defensive design of the stronghold.
