Deutsches Peitschenmuseum

The German Whip Museum occupies a former railway station building, featuring a complete collection of whip-making machinery and equipment from different periods.

The museum opened in 1993 through the efforts of Jürgen Simmendinger, whose grandfather belonged to the last generation of whip makers in the region.

During the early 1900s, the small village of Killer produced 5000 whips daily, representing half of Germany's total whip production due to limited farming possibilities.

Visitors need to schedule appointments in advance to tour the museum, which includes demonstrations of traditional whip-making techniques in a functioning workshop.

The Guinness Book of Records certified this institution in 1996 as Germany's only museum dedicated to the craft and history of whip making.
