Landschloss is a two-story mansion with a mansard roof, rusticated corner stonework, and a simple belt cornice separating the floors, standing in the center of Maroldsweisach. The facade displays the quiet elegance of Renaissance architecture and appears remarkably balanced in its design.
Construction took place in 1768 after the Horneck von Weinheim barons purchased the estate from the Stein family. The building replaced a medieval water castle that had been destroyed in 1525.
The Catholic chapel attached to the main building still serves the local community for worship and religious gatherings today. It shows how the castle has remained woven into the daily life of the parish over the centuries.
You can view the exterior building at Schlossplatz 5 and observe the Renaissance details of the facade up close. The area around the property invites walking, particularly along the nearby rivers.
