Schloss in Rohrbach

Schloss Rohrbach is a three-story castle at the center of Rohrbach village, surrounded by service buildings and enclosing walls. A staggered gable was added to the structure in 1734.

The von Rohrbach family first appeared in 11th-century records with Tassilo de Rohrbach. Their original fortress on Rohrbacher Turmberg was destroyed in 1445, after which this location became the family's new residence.

The east wing holds a historic brewery that still shows how traditional Bavarian beer was made. You can see the methods that families passed down through generations here.

The castle is located at Schloßweg 3 in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm area of Bavaria. The site is easily accessible and sits centrally within the village, making it straightforward to explore the local architecture and surroundings.

The property has been owned by the Edler von Koch family since 1816, when Alois Koch purchased it and received his noble title. This continuous family ownership across centuries is rare and shaped the castle's long-term development.
