Saalebrücke Rudolphstein, Prestressed concrete arch bridge in Rudolphstein, Bavaria, Germany.
The Saalebrücke spans the Saale River with eight semicircular arches, reaching a height of 35 meters across a total length of 254 meters.
Built in 1936 by 300 workers at a cost of 3 million Reichsmark, the bridge suffered damage in 1945 and remained impassable until repairs in 1964.
The bridge received the name 'Bridge of German Unity' in 2006, representing the connection between former East and West German territories.
The structure carries the Bundesautobahn 9 highway traffic between Berlin and Munich, featuring separate lanes for each direction measuring 9.05 meters wide.
Three parallel structures comprise the bridge complex, with a newer prestressed concrete span added in 1996 measuring 296.4 meters in length.
