St. Crucis-Kirche Bad Sooden-Allendorf

St. Crucis-Kirche is a church building with a single-nave hall layout and Gothic elements, including ribbed vaults in the choir and five large windows with tracery. The structure spans multiple construction periods and blends different architectural styles throughout.

The main structure originated in the first half of the 14th century, while the tower was added during the 15th century. The south wall still contains remnants from an earlier Romanesque building that was completed around 1386.

The church displays baroque furnishings inside, including a stone altar built in 1637 and a carved pulpit created by Heinrich Erdinger in 1684. These pieces shape how the interior looks today and reflect the artistic choices made during later periods.

The building stands at Kirchplatz 1 and features a bell tower that rises 65 meters (213 feet), making it easy to spot in town. It hosts regular Protestant services and is centrally located for easy access.

The south wall contains pieces from an 11th century Romanesque building, showing that a place of worship existed here long before the current structure was built. These older stones are visible evidence of how long this site has been used for prayer.
