Silberberg bei Bodenmais, Mountain summit in Bodenmais, Germany.

Silberberg is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest with two distinct peaks rising to about 955 meters above sea level. The rock formations contain various minerals that have attracted human interest for centuries.

Mining at this location started centuries ago when workers extracted silver and other metals from beneath the surface. This tradition shaped the region and left behind the tunnels visible today.

The name reflects the silver deposits that once drew miners to this location. Visitors walking through the tunnels today connect directly with how people lived and worked within the mountain.

The mountain is accessible by cable car or on foot, with clearly marked trails for different fitness levels. Winter sports like skiing and sledding are available, while the indoor areas stay open year-round.

The Barbara tunnels extend deep into the mountain and display the handiwork of miners from previous generations. Visitors encounter genuine tools and equipment that workers used more than a century ago.
