St. Bonifatius, Roman Catholic filial church in Düren-Ost, Germany
St. Bonifatius is a modern church located in Düren-Ost, built in 1951 based on architect Albert Boßlet's design. The structure displays postwar contemporary architecture with clean lines and functional styling typical of 1950s religious buildings.
The site began with an association founded in 1919 that led to the construction of an initial church in 1922. Following wartime damage, the current building was erected in 1951 as a new structure.
The church contained significant religious artworks, including a bronze and rock crystal sacramental house crafted by artist Albert Sous in 1980.
The building was deconsecrated in 2017 and underwent renovations afterward. It now operates as the San Pedro daycare center and is no longer accessible as a place of worship.
The bell tower houses four bronze bells cast in 1952 by Hans Georg Hüesker. These bells form a special musical arrangement known as the ideal quartet.
