Schloss Etterzhausen

Schloss Etterzhausen consists of a two-story structure with a central projection, rounded corners, and an octagonal domed tower in the Bavarian architectural style.

In 1261, Babo von Etterzhausen owned the castle, which was later destroyed during the Thirty Years' War in 1632 and reconstructed with classical north and south wings.

The castle demonstrates the evolution of German noble residences, transforming from medieval defensive structures to refined manor houses during the post-medieval period.

The castle underwent extensive renovations at the turn of the millennium under the ownership of Ernst Ippisch, a tax consultant from Regensburg.

The entrance features the Erlbeck-Reitzenstein coat of arms, while an 18th-century cast-iron fence and garden wall enclose the castle grounds.
