Schloss Gailenbach, Heritage château in Gersthofen, Germany.
Schloss Gailenbach is a two-story building with stepped gables, yellow exterior walls, and green window shutters situated within a walled park. The grounds also feature a protected lime tree standing at the southern side of the structure.
Nobleman Zacharias Geizkofler commissioned the castle beginning in 1592 after acquiring the land from David Haug. The estate developed over following centuries into an important family seat of the region.
The castle displays architectural features from late medieval traditions with its characteristic stepped gables and symmetrical design, reflecting building practices of the Augsburg region. Its yellow walls and green shutters remain recognizable landmarks in the local landscape today.
The castle is located in Augsburg district and is viewable from the outside, though access to the park depends on current opening hours. Visitors should check ahead to see if guided tours or public viewing times are available.
In 1822, Johann Benedikt von Paris had a commemorative coin minted to mark a family celebration held at the castle. This coin serves as a rare record of festive traditions and the personal importance the place held for its residents.
