Schondorf station

Schondorf Bay station features three platform faces and serves as a connection point on the Mering-Weilheim railway line at 557 meters elevation.

The station began operations on June 30, 1898, initially serving as the southern terminus of the Mering line before extending to Weilheim in December.

The station building exhibits the traditional Heimatstil architecture, incorporating local design elements that represent Bavarian construction methods of the late 19th century.

The station building at Bahnhofstrasse 45 includes a semi-open waiting hall and connects to State Roads 2055 and 2346 via a level crossing.

Located 800 meters from the Ammersee lake shore, this station stands between the formerly separate villages of Oberschondorf and Unterschondorf, which merged in 1970.
