Mariä Heimsuchung, Gothic Revival parish church in Zittau, Germany
The Mariä Heimsuchung church features a 72-meter bell tower with a pointed spire and two flanking half-height towers above its main entrance point.
Between 1883 and 1890, architect Hermann Knothe-Seeck designed and built this hall church to serve the growing Catholic population from Silesia and Bohemia.
The interior contains original stained glass windows depicting Gospel scenes, complemented by 14 Stations of the Cross mounted along the walls.
The church accommodates 360 seats and maintains regular parish services, with information about activities available through the parish website and Google Calendar.
Pope Leo XIII gifted the church a magnificent tabernacle featuring a golden monstrance attended by two angels in the main altar.
