Teahouse on Mooslahnerkopf Hill, Garden tea house in Obersalzberg, Germany
The Teahouse on Mooslahnerkopf Hill was a cylindrical building with large windows overlooking the Salzburg Basin toward Austria. The structure featured steps and a wooden terrace extending from the building across the hilltop.
The building was constructed in 1937 under architect Roderich Fick's design and served as a retreat until 1945. After the war, American forces demolished the structure in the early 1950s.
The tea house served as a gathering spot where visitors would meet over refreshments inside the circular room. Its hilltop setting allowed people to observe the surrounding landscape while spending time together.
Only the foundation and steps of the original structure remain visible today, as the building was removed after the war. Visitors can view these remains on the hilltop and enjoy the views that the original tea house once provided.
The wooden terrace provided a special vantage point where visitors could watch farmers working in the valley far below. This viewpoint was unusual as it offered glimpses into the everyday life of the surrounding area.
