Villa Grün

Villa Grün is a mansion with over twenty rooms spread across multiple floors, displaying exhibits about the region's economic development. The collections trace how industry and commerce shaped this area throughout the generations.

The building was constructed between 1914 and 1915 in neoclassical style for mining industrialist Carl Grün. It later opened as an economic history museum in 1983.

The rooms display how people cooked and lived across different time periods, preserving the daily life of this region. Visitors can walk through recreated kitchens and see how domestic routines changed from one generation to the next.

The museum welcomes visitors mainly during the warmer months from April to November. Plan your visit to allow time for exploring all areas, including the underground exhibition spaces below.

The basement holds extensive mining exhibitions with multimedia displays that document the heritage of Dill mining. These collections feature tools, techniques, and stories from the miners who shaped this region.
