St. Helena, Parish church in Untergiesing-Harlaching, Munich, Germany

St. Helena is a brick parish church in the Untergiesing-Harlaching neighborhood of Munich, located near Wettersteinplatz on Fromundstraße. The building follows a cross-shaped layout with the altar placed at the center, and a freestanding bell tower stands apart from the main structure.

The church was completed in 1964, designed by architect Hansjakob Lill, after post-war housing construction brought many new families to what had been farmland. It became an independent parish in 1966 and today belongs to the parish association Obergiesing alongside two neighboring churches.

The church is easy to spot from the street thanks to its brick exterior and the freestanding bell tower nearby. Next to the main building, there is a community hall, a parish office, and a kindergarten, so the area around the church tends to be active during the day.

The pipe organ was built in 1968 by Carl Schuster and features 31 registers across three manuals and a pedal board, which is an unusually large setup for a neighborhood church. A second set of improvements was added in 1994 by Johannes Führer, expanding the range of sounds available.
