Museum Bensheim occupies 600 square meters of exhibition space, displaying collections of prehistoric artifacts, agricultural tools, and regional crafts from different periods.
Established in 1909, the museum resides in a former Lorsch monastery courtyard, featuring a preserved timber-framed room with paintings dating from 1590.
The museum exhibits furniture from the Biedermeier period, traditional craft workshops, and displays dedicated to local wine production and textile manufacturing.
The museum welcomes visitors Thursday and Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 PM, with guided tours available by appointment.
The museum houses the Arnau Panorama Nativity Scene from Giant Mountains, containing over one hundred figures created between 1866 and 1870.
