Egeskov Castle, Renaissance water castle in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality, Denmark.
The castle rises from a lake on oak pilings, with two long buildings connected by thick defensive walls and circular corner towers.
Built in 1554 by Frands Brockenhuus during civil unrest, Egeskov Castle has remained in continuous noble ownership through Danish aristocratic families.
The castle maintains several exhibition spaces containing vintage automobiles, motorcycles, and agricultural machinery, reflecting Danish technological advancement through centuries.
The castle opens its gardens, exhibitions, and parts of the main building for visitors between April and October, with special events during Halloween season.
The castle foundation required an entire oak forest for construction, leading to its name Egeskov, which translates to oak forest in Danish.
